Devotional Faith is the key to gaining power in your practice, the real power yoga. Patanjali lays down the
fundamental for the yogi to plant the right seed for how to see ultimate reality directly. Is the surrendering to
the all-knowing master, God! It is NOT blind faith here but rather surrender to the One with constant effort, pure
awareness in meditation that leads to wisdom to see ultimate reality. But we can't see ultimately reality without
the right seed for it. Hence he also provides us with the kindest thoughts and intentions that allow us to see all
beings and all things as holy beings and teachers. Seeing them as our Guru. God!

Freude ist Deine Lebensquelle! Sie ist immer in Dir präsent, auch wenn sie temporär von anderen Emotionen
überschattet wird.
we are very happy to welcome one of the most outstanding teachers of our times back in germany...
David began practicing yoga at a very early age. Well not quite as early as the photo
but he did begin in 1969 at the age of 13. His older brother Doug was his first teacher. They practiced hatha yoga
from whatever books they could find.
David's introduction to Ashtanga came in 1973 when he met David Williams and Nancy Gilgoff in Encinitas,
California. In 1975 David and Nancy brought K. Pattabhi Jois to the U.S. for the first time and Swenson was
fortunate enough to be there. He then initiated studies directly with the master. Swenson made his first trip to
Mysore in 1977 and learned the full Ashtanga system as it was originally taught by K. Pattabhi Jois.
David Swenson is recognized today as one of the worlds foremost practitioners and instructors of Ashtanga
Yoga.

WORKSHOPS
(Rates Prebooking&Payment before FEB 01st, 2012 / Regular & Drop-In Rates after FEB 01st)
1) Fr 27.04. 19-22h 49,00 € / 59,00 €
flying, floating + handstanding: a fun-filled exploration of vinyasa + handstands
One of the greatest challenges of the Ashtanga flow is the vinyasa. In this class David will break the vinyasa
down into it's components of breath and movement into what he calls: "The Physics of Flight". The class will also
explore the elements of hand-standing. This will all be done through the avenue of partner work. There is always
plenty of laughter and fun as well as a flood of information in this class.
2) Sa 28.04. 10-12h 35,00 € / 45,00 €
all aboard the ashtanga train: yoga chikitsa - a fully conducted primary series class
This class is designed for those already familiar with the First Series of Ashtanga Yoga or those with experience
in vinyasa flow yoga styles who sucessfully took the Saturday workshops. It will be conducted like a train ride
that will continue flowing along all of the way from the opening sun salutations to the closing sequence. There
will be time at the end of the flow to enjoy a deep relaxation.
3) Sa 28.04. 14-17h 49,00 € / 59,00 €
ashtanga's greatest hits: come + explore some of the most dynamic + fun asanas in the ashtanga system
This class is designed for those already familiar with the First Series of Ashtanga Yoga. It will be conducted
like a train ride that will continue flowing along all of the way from the opening sun salutations to the closing
sequence. There will be time at the end of the flow to enjoy a deep relaxation.
4) So 29.04. 10-13h 49,00 € / 59,00 €
inversions, backbends + sitting with your breath: finding stability when the world is inverted and returning home
to breath
This class will turn your world upside/down in order to explore the dynamics of inverting the body through building
a solid foundation from which to grow while also looking at the opposing forces at play in Inversions. Backbends
will be redefined as front openings and sitting quietly will be explored as an active participation in
self-exploration through developing a relationship with our lifelong companion, breath.
5) So 29.04. 15-18h 49,00 € / 59,00 €
equality of opposition and the six directions: seeking lines of energy and feeling the flow
Everything within this universe is composed of opposing forces: up/down, right/left, day/night, birth/death. The
word yoga means "unity," or balance between opposites. By applying awareness of the inherent lines of energy
present within any asana, we can find greater freedom and more stability with less effort. Learn to see and feel
these energy flows through partner work and individual practice. Both students and teachers can benefit from
recognizing these natural flowing lines of prana and gain insight into riding the flow.
6) So 06.05. 15-18h 49,00 € / 59,00 €
Nadi Shodana, a guided tour: An Introduction to the Intermediate Series
Students should have a regular practice of the First Series or have completed the workshop weekend and/or teaching
techniques immersion in order to attend this class. There will be an introductory discussion of the dynamics
inherent to the Second Series. David will then lead the class through a portion of First Series acting as a
springboard into as much of the Second Series as seems appropriate.
7) Mo 30.04. - So 06.05. 790,00 € / 890,00 €
TEACHING YOGA
40 hours intensive
This 40-hour course is designed as an intensive immersion into the teaching techniques of the Primary Series of
Ashtanga Yoga. It is NOT a teaching certification course. Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion at
the end of the course but NOT a Teaching Certification. Participants will gain great insights and depth of
knowledge as to how to share the practice of Ashtanga Yoga with all levels of students. The information contained
in this course is invaluable and will be and extremely beneficial continuing education to those already teaching
Ashtanga Yoga or an Ashtanga Yoga based or influenced Hatha Yoga style (such as for example Jivamukti Yoga, Power
Yoga, Prana Flow Yoga, Forrest Yoga or other vinyasa flow yoga style) as well as to students wishing only to attend
to deepen their personal YOGA practice. This course will cover the teaching techniques of the Primary Series of
Ashtanga Yoga. The participants will learn safe and effective hands-on adjustment techniques through partner work
for all of the asanas, practicalities of conducting a class and yoga theory. This is a deep immersion into the
details underlying the practice and teaching of Ashtanga Yoga.
One need not be a teacher to attend or even desire to beCOME a teacher. Those who do not want to become a teacher
should however be prepared to teach each other during this weeklong immersion and to learn much about their own #
practice in teaching others. Many students have attended this course to merely enhance their personal practice.
And hose that do already teach or wish to teach will find a wealth of invaluable tools to share with their
students.
It is necessary for participants to have a personal practice of Ashtanga Yoga and an understanding of the flow and
sequencing of the asanas. The course is not designed as an avenue to learn the sequence but rather to learn to
teach Ashtanga Yoga techniques or to deepen an existing practice. As in all courses run by David Swenson there is
sure to be plenty of laughter and fun as well as an incredible depth of knowledge shared. Participants are certain
to learn more than they ever imagined possible in a weeklong course and have a great time in the process. Don't
miss this opportunity.
